Omega Stainless Steel Cal. 266, ref. #2791-8 Item #2180 SOLD
Here we have a VERY cool Omega manual wind watch C-1954. The stainless steel case measures just under 36mm across without the crown, and just over 43mm from lug tip to lug tip. It is oversize for the period. The high polish case looks great for 64 years old! It shows some minor marks on the caseback (looks like mishandling of a case knife), though you'll never see them looking at the watch on your wrist. The case also features a signed, stainless steel Omega crown in great condition.
The dial is a really interesting one: it shows 12 o'clock displayed with an applied stainless steel Omega logo just below it. The other hour markers are faceted and sunken right into the dial - something you don't typically see! The subseconds register is two toned (offwhite with a silver background). It has a building silhouette and is marked "Saurer" - most likely a company presentation watch. The dial finish does show some aging to the original finish. Stainless steel hands top it all off.
The watch features an Omega-signed, Swiss made caliber 266 movement with 17 jewels. This very pretty movement comes fully serviced and is keeping very good time. The watch comes ready to wear on a brand new, high grade strap in soft black lambskin.
