Illinois Silver 17J WW C-1916 #2310 Price $1375

100 YEARS OLD!
This is one of the earliest American made wristwatches ever made.
One of the earliest wristwatches, period!

This is a wonderful, original Illinois wristwatch from **1916**.  This WWI-era wristwatch’s sterling silver case looks like is hasn’t been touched in generations.  It is a cushion style that shows some light use and plenty of patina.  Very nice condition given this is exactly a century old!  The case has been ultrasonically cleaned, but not polished in order to preserve its originality.  It even has a correct period “onion” style crown.  The dial finish is all original and features pierced fancy blued steel hands.  You just have to love the look of the sub-seconds register at 9 o’clock.

The movement is Illinois made and features 17 jewels. It is top quality with gold gear train and gold timing screws. There is also a Swan’s neck micrometer regulator on the balance.

The watch has just been completely serviced. The service included a new mainspring and a new-old-stock glass crystal (correct for the period).  It is running well and keeping very good time.
