IWC 14K Gold Caliber 83 C-1947 Item #2484 SOLD
A rare find and ALL ORIGINAL!
70 Years Old!!!
Here we have a SOLID 14K GOLD IWC with all of the accouterments from its last service from IWC.
The SOLID 14K GOLD case measures 33.4 mm across without the crown, and 40.2 mm from lug to lug. It's in beautiful shape - clear that it's been very carefully worn and well cared-for over the years! The case features scrolling gold drop-down lugs in wonderful condition, as well as the watch's original crown (also in great shape). The original finish silver dial is showing its age, but the finish is original, untouched from the factory - and we think still looks great. It features applied, faceted gold arrow markers and matching faceted gold hands. The signed IWC in-house movement is the high grade Caliber 83 with 17 jewels, and is marked adjusted to 3 positions.
We have just finished a complete service on this timepiece. During which we lightly refinished the case and installed a new crystal. The movement was completely disassembled, cleaned and than properly lubricated during reassembly. From there we regulated the watch and it is keeping very good time.
What makes this watch very collectable and unique is it comes with paperwork from a factory service/restoration that took place in 2005. They spent $1250 to have the watch serviced back in 2005. The watch was sent out from a jewelry store in New York to be serviced at the IWC factory in Switzerland. It comes with all the paperwork showing this service. Along with the paperwork comes a factory service IWC pouch and the caseback still has the sticker from that service.
