IWC Schaffhausen 14K Gold C-1940’s Item #2591 Price $2850

Here we have a wonderful and very rare timepiece made solid 14K Gold IWC from the early 1940’s. The Heavy, solid 14K gold case measures 28mm across excluding the crown and 38mm from lug to lug. The case was produced by the Cresarrow Watchcase Company (you'll see the crescent moon with an arrow through it on the inside caseback). Cresarrow was the case manufacturer of choice of many High-Grade Swiss watch companies like Vacheron & Constantin, LeCoultre, Tiffany & Co., and many others.

The case is beautiful quality with heavy, hooded lugs that force the watch strap into a comfortable, curved position. If you take a look at the 7th and 8th photos, you’ll see how the case was built to help wrap the strap around to conform to the wrist. Other do not so the watch sits high and uncomfortable on the wrist. Picture #9 will give you an idea of how the watch looks when worn. I am wearing it and I am 5’9” and 160 lbs. It’s a wonderful timepiece and wears much bigger than the measurements suggest.

The frosted silver dial is accented with applied, high polish gold Arabic markers and matching original hands. The dial is in outstanding condition and to ensure it looks its best, we installed a new old stock glass crystal. This crystal is correct for the watch case and features very good optics edge to edge. You can see the result in the pictures.

The watch is powered by an IWC signed, in-house movement with 17 jewels, marked adjusted to 3 positions. It comes fully & properly serviced including a new mainspring. We've also installed a brand new, crocodile strap in a rich chestnut brown. As a finishing touch, we added a gold filled period buckle that matches the gold watch case perfectly.
