Watches of Switzerland Compressor Case Automatic #2617 Price
Here we have a very cool C-1969 "Compressor Case" Seafarer Swiss dive watch. From our research, Watches of Switzerland is a chain of boutique watch retailers out of the UK who have been around since the early 1920’s and still exists today. It’s VERY rare to find a private label compressor watch, let alone one in such great, all-original condition.
It is housed in a stainless steel compressor case that measures 35.1mm across without the crown, and 40.9mm from lug tip to lug tip. The caseback is signed "Compressor" along with the Brevet Cross – The markings are light, but still visible. The case also features an original, early version compressor style crown with crosshatch markings. Original and rare to find! Overall, the watch is in great condition.
One of the best features of this watch is the wonderful original dial with sunburst finish. It’s sort of a smoke gray, almost bronze color. It also features faceted stainless steel markers matching steel/luminous hand set. Under the dial is a Swiss made ETA automatic movement with 17 jewels.
The watch comes completely serviced including a new, correct dive crystal, mainspring, and caseback gasket. It’s running strong and keeping very good time. We paired the watch with a high grade Di-Modell calfskin strap, handmade in Germany.
