Croton Valjoux 7750 SS/PVD Chronograph Item #2618 SOLD
This late 1960’s Croton chronograph features an outstanding original Stainless Steel case with its original black PVD coating. It’s a good size timepiece measuring 41.50 mm across without the crown and 42.60 mm from lug to lug. With a screw on case back, this Croton is built like a tank. The case shows minimal signs of use. It hasn’t been worn rough or abused in any way, and it shows on that great original finish!
The black 3-register dial is all original, as are the matching hands. Given that many of these sport watches have been through the ringer, a dial this nice is exceptionally rare to come across. The inner tachymeter bezel also looks great. And what wonderfully aged luminous!
Under the dial is a Croton signed Valjoux (not the ETA version) 7750 automatic chronograph movement with 17 jewels and quickset day and date. It comes recently serviced including a new glass crystal, and is keeping excellent time. All of its chronograph features (start, stop, & flyback) operate smoothly, just as they should. The watch comes on a thick leather sports straps and is ready to wear.
