IWC Schaffhausen Yacht Club Item #2629 Price $
Wonderful condition on this C-1973, all original IWC Yacht Club featuring IWC's high grade in-house Caliber 8541B automatic movement with 17 Jewels and date function. The very same movement also used in the famous IWC Ingenieur. An outstanding movement! Maybe the best produced by any Swiss house at the time.
The stainless steel case measures 36.0mm across without the crown and 42.5mm from lug tip to lug tip. The style of the case is what we refer to as a "Super Shockproofing" case. In essence, the movement is housed in a smaller, inner case that nests inside the outer case for extra shock protection. (Please see the photos for all of the parts involved in housing the movement). An original stainless steel crown with the signature IWC fish is the finishing touch.
This one also features a beautiful silver dial with an original sunburst finish. Just the slightest hint of aging gives it the perfect amount of character. A faceted steel frame surrounds the date window at 3 o’clock. Two tone silver and black-topped hour markers surround the dial, and matching two tone steel/luminous complete the look. Signed with a big, bold applied stainless steel 'IWC' at 12 o'clock.
This classic IWC comes recently serviced and is keeping very good time. We ultrasonically cleaned the watch, but did no polishing or refinishing. The original finish looks that good. We paired the watch with a brand new genuine crocodile strap with a stainless steel IWC signed buckle. Ready to wear and enjoy for years to come!
