Audemars Piguet Solid 18K Gold Item #2698 SOLD
Outstanding untouched condition on this early 1950's Audemars Piguet 18K Gold wristwatch with its signed strap and original 18K Gold buckle.
The watch is housed in a solid 18K Gold case, signed "Audemars Piguet 18K" inside of the caseback. It measures 31.5mm across excluding the crown, and 36.4mm from lug tip to lug tip. A classic size and style that wears very nicely on the wrist.
The watch also features an ORIGINAL FINISH matte off-white dial. It's accented with elegant black Roman numeral hour markers and matching blued/grey hands. It also features its original gold crown and a perfect crystal.
Powered by a fully signed Audemars Piguet movement with 18 jewels and features manual winding. It is also signed "Eight (8) Adjustments", very high-grade. The movement is thin so the case can be thin also (less than 5mm thick). It makes this timepiece easy to wear for dress as it will slide under a shirt cuff comfortably and not get hung up. Anyone who has tried to wear a sports watch with their cuffs buttoned knows what this means.
It comes fully serviced and running just as it should. It winds and sets smoothly and is keeping very good time. We completely disassembled the case and ultrasonically cleaned it, but did no polishing or refinishing. And Nobody ever has!
The only real signs of its past are marks on the caseback left from previous watchmakers opening the case and a bit to the original strap.
It has never been polished, never altered. For a collectible, it just doesn't get much better than this!
