Ball Official Railroad Standard Model N2 1604B Item #2718 Price $1150
Very good vintage condition on this Ball Railroad Official Railroad Standard wristwatch from the late 50's early 60's. A very cool looking piece with a classic clean white dial and big BOLD Arabic markers.
The watch is housed in a nicely sized 34.5mm stainless steel case. With heavy twisted lugs and a bold dial, it wears even bigger than its measurements suggest. The dial and hands are completely original, and both look great.
The watch is powered by a Swiss made signed Ball Official R.R. Standard movement (signed 'Model N2 1604B') with 21 jewels, marked "Adjusted to Five 5 Positions". It also features a swan's neck regulator - a nice throwback to the days of America's railroad-grade pocketwatches. Covering the movement is an antimagnetic shield. It's running well and keeping very good time.
During service, we completely disassembled the case and ultrasonically cleaned it. We did no polishing or refinishing, leaving the watch as original as possible. It does show signs of its former life, but nothing that takes away from the look of the watch. Certainly far less than many we've seen while researching this particular model.
We paired the watch with a top quality waterproof leather strap with contrast stitching for a great vintage look.
